He then attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he studied Molecular Biology until he became interested in Medicine and entered medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his medical degree in 1985 and his internship in Internal Medicine at the Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 1986. He then spent 3 years at the University of New Mexico Hospital and VAMC to complete his Neurology training. In 1989 after completion of his Neurology residency he started Northeast Texas Neurology Associates in Sherman, Texas. This was a satisfying Neurology practice, but was not a good fit for his family. He moved to his current solo practice in Idaho in 1991. He is the Medical director of Idaho Falls Neurology since 1991. He practice general Neurology and provide care for both children and adults of all ages. He became board certified in Neurology in 1994. He obtained board certification in Vascular Neurology in 2009. He helped establish the first primary stroke program and telestroke program in Eastern Idaho at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in 2011. He has been involved with teaching medical students from the University of Washington, Des Moines University School of Medicine and other medical schools for many years. He also teaches students from the Pharmacy, PA and NP programs from Idaho State University on occasion. He is an advocate for his patients and completed the 2014 AMPAC Candidate Workshop. He served as the Idaho Medical Association president in 2007. He married to Jan Garland who is a Cardiology Advanced Nurse Practioner and they have 5 children. Ismail Hakki AYDIN, MD, Professor of Neurosurgery was born in Macka, Trabzon, Turkey on 1954. He received his medical degree at the Ataturk University of Erzurum, the fourth oldest University in the Turkey. After graduating from the Medical School, he completed residencies in Neurosurgery in Ataturk, Istanbul and Zurich Universities. In 1984, he accepted a position at the Ataturk University of Turkey as Ass. Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of the Neurosurgical Department of Medical School, and received full Professor of Neurosurgery in 1994. His chairmanship in this Department was very active until 2010. After this time, he transferred his position to a private University in Istanbul. Professor Aydin, who was the past President of the Nervous Systen Surgery Society, has some neurosurgical techniques and Sylvian Vein and Cistern Classification were published. For this reason he received more than thirty national and international prestigious awards in Neurosurgery. He has been very active in clinical and central nervous system research and contributed to more than 150 clinical neurosurgery, micro neurovascular, surgical techniques and experimental research publications on neuroscience. Also, he is the Honorable and Invited Guest Lecturer of Scientific Congress in the many countries of the World. Meanwhile, Dr. Aydin, who is Musician, Theologist, Calligrapher, Lyricist, Philosophic Writer, and Poet, has published eight printed books (Suz-i Dilara, Ask, Vuslat, Nefes, Hicran, Rabbim Beni Doktorlardan Koru!, Ya Hayy! and Ah Bu Doktorlar!) in paramedical area. He is the Editorial Board of many Scientific Journals, and Active Member of more than twenty Neuroscientific Societies, including Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), American Heart Association (AHA) and European Stroke Science Council.
