Abstract
Medical science today stands in the midst of deep scientific vision and scientific introspection. The science of psychiatry is at a highly advanced stage today. The author is a patient of mental depression and schizophrenia from 1993 to today. In this short paper, the author deeply comprehends with cogent insight the diagnosis and the administration of clozapine in the course of his illness. The paper touches upon the scientific success, the scientific travails and the vast scientific ingenuity in the path towards a newer era in the science of psychiatry. Medical science has few answers to schizophrenia. Yet the immense determination in the sufferer are the winner at the end of the day.

Introduction
Schizophrenia in today’s scientific world cannot be cured. The domain of psychological science and psychiatry are today in the path of newer scientific regeneration and deep scientific vision. Medical science has few answers to the scientific intricacies and diagnosis of schizophrenia. As a sufferer of schizophrenia, the author elucidates the difficulties the author has witnessed over the years and the entire medical treatment. Human mankind’s immense scientific prowess, man’s unending scientific quest towards medical diagnosis and the futuristic vision of medical science will all lead a long and effective way in the true emancipation of the science of psychiatry. The author is under treatment since 1993. Different medications under different hospitals throughout the country has brought in him a glitter of hope and determination to face the immense difficulties in life. Since 1997, the author is under the administration of clozapine which is a wonder drug to treat schizophrenia [1]. Science and medicine has travelled a weary path since then. As a teacher of chemical engineering in a reputed university in North India, he at many occasions falters and has to face agonizing moments in his path of life. Yet the determination and grit is enormous and he faces the future with immense agony as well as might. This short treatise is an account of his struggle and vision of life which lies before him.
Initial Years of his Illness
Human being at the course of his life’s journey are faced with immense hurdles, trials and tribulations. For the author, life was not easy but a bed of thorns at the moment he moved from secondary education to university education in chemical engineering in 1988 [1]. He enrolled into a prestigious engineering university in Kolkata, India. The author was introvert and shy. The academic and scientific rigor in engineering education in India is of highest order. The curriculum was difficult to handle. Technology and engineering science was globally entering a newer eon in the 1990’s to 2000. Chemical engineering is an applied science and an applied engineering endeavor. As the course moved forward towards the final years of under graduation, the agony of an established career was slowly destroying the scientific mindset of the author. Immense academic pressure, the veritable challenges and the peer pressure enhanced the mental agony and pain. Yet he passed out under graduation in Chemical Engineering with flying colours. The job situation in his state of West Bengal, India was scarce then. Frustration developed and the agony of the ailment of mental depression was slowly transforming the mind. Anxiety and agony multiplied as he got admitted to the post graduate course in chemical engineering in the same university. His post graduation years were 1992-1994. During that period, post graduation in Chemical Engineering was one and a half years. Just 6 months before the end of the post graduation course, his suspicions and doubts increased [1]. Suddenly, totally bedraggled, at 1.00AM(some day in November, 1993) at night he rushed to his teacher’s house in his locality in South Kolkata, India. The world suddenly stood still in his life and a life shattered. Within one week, parents and relatives took him to a well known psychiatrist in the city. He was administered anti-psychotic medicines which had tremendous side-effects. In March, 1994, he passed out of the hallowed portals of university towards a newer beginning as a postgraduate chemical engineer. He got a chemical engineering job in the capital city of New Delhi, India. He joined the job and stayed there up to August, 1994. Suddenly he started discontinuing medicines [1]. It became fatal and thus he left the job in August, 1994 and returned to his home city Kolkata. Suddenly when he was returning from his office one day to his home, hallucinations started and he was deluged with different types of sounds. Suspicions trebled and confusion reigned supreme. Again he was rushed to the nursing home. The world fell before him like a house of cards. Yet with immense grit and determination he faced the difficulties of life. He changed job frequently and things became more difficult for him. In September, 1996, he got a teaching job in a reputed university in North India. He went alone not hearing his parents and doctors advice. As usual, he again discontinued medicines and his life changed totally. Continuous hallucinations, doubt and suspicion took hold of him. His uncle went to the university campus to bring him back to his home city of Kolkata [1]. Then his medication was increased and he was hospitalized. The glitter of a healthy life was veritably shattered.
Administration of Clozapine
In 1997, at the advice of the Kolkata doctors, hapless parents took him to National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (NIMHANS) Bangalore, India [1]. A new era ushered in his life as he was first administered Clozapine by the doctors at NIMHANS, Bangalore. Again in 1998, with his parents, he was admitted in the family ward of NIMHANS, Bangalore. Slowly, the medication was increased by the doctors in Kolkata. Tremendous sideeffects destroyed the calm mental fabric of the author. He became helpless and was writhing in immense agony. From March, 1998 to March, 2001, he was enrolled in the doctoral program of chemical engineering at one of the renowned institutes in the country. But, irony of fate shattered his course of academic life. He was told to discontinue as he again had a relapse of schizophrenic attack. He again came back home with immense mental agony in March, 2001. After that, he was doing some small mechanical engineering jobs in a workshop in the outskirts of his homecity of Kolkata. In 2008, he again got a chance to do research in Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom [1]. He stayed from September, 2008 to May, 2010 but could not get his doctorate. Still he was winning in life at the encouragement of his parents, sister, relatives and the doctors. The vision and the challenge of his life is slowly changing. After coming back to India, he started teaching Chemical Engineering in an engineering college in Karnataka, India. He again went for a teaching assignment in Salalah, Oman from December, 2011 to May, 2012. In July, 2012, he got the present teaching assignment at a reputed university in North India. Hallucinations, doubt and suspicion are still prevalent as he moved in his life’s journey. Today he is still in his job in this well known university teaching chemical engineering to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
An Introspection and a Deep Scientific Comprehension
A schizophrenic patient has to face tremendous challenges in his life. There is just no end to the agonies and the travails in his life. Medical science still today has no answers to the burgeoning agonies of a mental patient [1]. Medicines have been discovered but the treatment of the patient very slow. The immense grit, determination and courage propelled the author to win in life. At some moment, he becomes helpless and devastated. But the science of psychiatry and its wonders are pushing the patient to a newer vision and a newer day. Life’s challenges are so difficult to answer for a hapless and a helpless schizophrenic patient. His vision and his determination are so immense and ever growing in the futuristic path of life.
Conclusion and a Deep Message
Medical science today stands in the midst of vision and scientific fortitude. The author reiterates the need of determination and grit in winning in the path of life. Today, human mankind stands in the midst of deep scientific introspection and vision [1]. Science and technology is moving from one visionary paradigm towards another today. The author’s only message to the mentally challenged person is not to lose any hope in the quest to move forward. Life is not a bed of roses but a bed of thorns of immense agony. Medical science is changing rapidly towards a newer emancipation and a newer scientific truth. The author wants to address to his fellow sufferers the life’s immense grit, determination and might. If these traits are instilled in the patient, he will be sure to be successful in life. The scientific vision of schizophrenia, the futuristic vision of medical science and the needs of the sufferer will surely lead a long and effective way in the true realization of the science of psychiatry.
